Because they are selfish, and ignorant. Ignorant for not learning about people before judging them. They are selfish because they think they are superior and because they will not take the time to learn about an individual but instead judge a whole race as one.A race they never took the time to know or learn about.

I am not rasicts but i have people in my family who are.
I think people are rascist towards black people because they have higher crime rates, rapings, and killings. They also think that when they get together they can be crazy. They may be a good person when they are by themselves, but when they are with other black people, they act differently, which i think is true to a certain degree.
my gpa said he doesnt hate black people, but they dont deserve all the attention they get. Blacks only make up 12% of the United States, but they get over 60% of the tv shows, media and other things like that. They should only get 12%. they also may be rascists because the way black people are today in society, like degrading women and other things like that. blacks get unfair treatment that whites do not get. they can make an all black college and they can have a black history month but if white ppl did it then would make the blacks mad!!!!
there are many many people who are not like this, but all of those are facts.
i think the main reason why people are racists towards muslims and other people like that is because of 9/11. i dont think before this that ppl were that scared and racists towards them.
You are right, it is not their fault and they were born this way and all you have to remember is God loves everyone no matter what ethnic group you belong in.

People are racist because they are ignorant pieces of garbage. I mean, what is the point of hating someone because of the colour of their skin, or making preconceived notions about a certain group of people, an not even give them a chance to get to know them. Its ridiculous. its the year 2007 for christ sake. We're not aliens, we were all born here on earth, we all bleed, we all have feelings, we all have the same views, we all have needs, we all need money, we all need to give and recieve love. How are we different?? How is one group of people better than another??

well everyone has their own opinion on things and everyone thinks differently. i think people are racist because they just find it hard to accept anyone else except themselves. i think it's the environment in which they grew up in and what they see on TV and how some of the different ethnic groups portray themselves and other races. they can only accept themselves and their family because that is what they were taught every since they were growing up. only some people though. not everyone. if they learn to accept themselves then they will be able to accept others and love them like their own. until they do that they will never stop being racist.

I decide if I like someone based on their actions not the way they look or what their race is. I have some of the best friends who are black, Mexican and even a few Muslim girls who are just the epitome of goodness which is wonderful. If someone acts rude and mean then I don't want anything to do with them. I leave them alone and don't start any sort of conversation with them.

Most people are racist because of lack of education and lack to exposure to other races. People of all races tend to be intolerant of other races to some degree, but that generally reduces with exposure and education. I can't think of any one race that is less intolerant than another in general. Racism is a multi-cultural thing. ;)

Everyone's a little bit racist. Certain aspects of life affect how you group people. I'm treated like an ignorant "white beyotch", because of my race.
Everyone hates someone not like them. It sucks, but it's life.

I want to answer this question, but in a nice way as not to offend anyone.
Ok, . first off. rednecks make all white people look bad., not all white ppl go toothless, live in trailers, and have children with their cousins. there are educated white people who work hard raise families, and wish to be decent folks. please do not judge all white folks because we have a few nuts making all of us look bad.
Now.. that said.- Black people, Not all of them use a slang tongue , bad grammar, not all blacks make vulgar rap music, not all blacks wear their pants down to their knees. and them ugly grill things over their teeth.
There are educated black people that work hard, raise families, and teach their children how to act approiate, and speak well, as well as dress well., please do not judge all coloured folks because the ones that do act like they are uneducated.
it is a touchy subject.
