I was on depo for 2 years and mine didnt stop until after 6 months. Which is completely normal! Go to the website if you already havent. its relly helpful. A word of advice though. the biggest side affect is weight gain because it increases your appetite and the hormones are extremely strong. i gained about 30 lbs!!! Also, i would consider finding something else. it is SOOOO easy to get depo. and i loved the convenience of it. but it pretty much deteriorates your bones over a period of time. i put the website at the bottom. go to it and look right under where it has the phone # and where it says HEALTHCARE PROFFESSIONALS. Talk to your doctor about calcium and bone loss. I hope youll reconsider. but as to the period thing it can take up to a year for your period to stop. Good luck!

I used depo too i had the opposite affect it stopped my period for like 1 year and some months. I did have some heavy periods between that time though and it's normal all you can do really is just relax and wait for it to pass. What i use now when i get a heavy period i take birth control it slows it down and or stops it..Good luck!

my ex wife had the same problem. one other person i know of that was on Depo had very crazy periods... i think it is a side effect.... might want to check with the Dr. If you are willing to put up with it then I suspect there will be no problems.
Personally I did not like my ex on depo ( or off of it I guess LOL) messed with her mood too much on top of the periods

So sorry! That really is rotton!
Girl- I hate Depo-provea! It was the worst thing that ever happened to my body. I never stopped bleeding and having pain for 6 months from one shot.

I would see your doctor and what ever you do, Use condoms!
Your not safe like that.
