Hi dear. Is it just a bit of spotting or is it actually bleeding? I would say that it is premature to assume you have an ectopic pregnancy when you have not even had a confirmed pregnancy. It is too soon for the egg to have even reached the uterus tho it is possible. In my personal experience with four pregnancies I never expereinced implantation bleeding. You are at such an early point in your cycle that it is almost impossible to know what is going on.
If the spotting becomes bleeding and is still bright red I would consider going to an ER. A less aggressive approach would be to call your doctor Monday morning and describe to the nurse what is going on. They will tell you whether or not they need to see you and whether or not they are willing to do any blood work at this very early stage.
I do not agree with the person who told you to go the ER without any further ado. I do not think you should panic to that extent unless you are in extreme pain and/or if the bleeding becomes profuse. You are just not "far enough along" to be in that situation. It is much to early for that sort of thinking. If you were 6-8 weeks pregnant I would agree with his thinking but that is not the case.
Take care of yourself and feel free to write to me if you would like to.
Blessings,
Lady T~ ps....I did not mean to give jm1970 a thumbs down rating! It was an accident, her answer was a good one in my opinion. I have asked to have it fixed. oops....

I've never had implanation bleeding with either of my children. Could be, could also be an infection or a cyst.

you should definitly call your doctor. It could just be that your cycle is changing, but i would check with your doctor.
