I live in Ontario Canada and I'm sick of people smoking outside my window. How far away from a building do you have to be to smoke?

I live in St Catharines, and how far from a doorway works too as it is outside our backdoor. And as for shutting the window...no thanks...I like a breeze, even in the winter.

In Windsor it's 2 metres from a doorway. The law doesn't seem to specify a distance at the Provincial level though.

The Tobacco Nazis have won in ON. Employers can't even put up an outdoor shelter for smokers now! That should help worker health, especially in the winter!

They already have to go outside to smoke. Wow, you people won't be happy until smokers are put on their own island will you? I suggest you ask them to step away from the window if it bothers you so much. Like another response close your windows if its that big of a hassle. These people are complying with a ban, I think you should be a little empathetic with them also. Tell them I know its rough to smoke outside, and I don't want to be a nag but is there any way you could not smoke under my window.
