I live in south/east Kentucky and when my uncle and new aunt went for their marriage license they were asked if they were cousins. Do they ask that everywhere?

Actually it looks like they did that becouse it is illegal in the state of Kentucky to marry your cousin. But in some states they actually allow marriage between first cousins.

I also live here in ky, for the last 5 years, when I heard of it, thought it was a tad strange, got married in N.Y, and they didn't ask us, but that was 30 years ago, but my girlfriend got married here last year here, thought she was going to fall over laughing when they asked them

no, only in Kentucky. if you say "yes", you don't get a license, just a "learners permit"
