I was at work at a truck stop when my manager asked me to clean the parking lot. I found a wallet with$3000 in it. My first instinct was to take the money and turn in the wallet. I thought about my 1 1/2 lb son I had just given birth too and how bad he needed the money for continuous blood transfusion. I went back to work and took the wallet home with me.That night I went through the wallet and found a license of a 50 year old male. I called information for his number. After telling him the purpose of the call, I asked him to meet me at my job the next day. On my lunch break he picked up his wallet, and he thanked me for returning it. This man was crying so hard when he opened it and the money was still there. When he calmed down, he later told me that his daughter needed a heart transplant and the money was his co pay. How many of you would have taken the money and used it for your sick child? Oh, that gentleman came to my job a month later with a card and $1000 just for me!

If you don't think this story is true, don't answer my question because 9 times out of 10 you are roguish and would keep the money!

see? :) what goes around comes around. :D ..they would have caught you anyways if u had kept it, im proud of you, good job!!!!!!! and, yes i would have returned it 100% FOR SURE. im not selfish, and i know other people are worried where it is, and they need it maybe more than me...like for example this generous man for his daughter's health..and if I had lost $3000 i would have wanted it back ASAP..so yea you shouldnt be selfish like that (not saying you are i think you are generous) but, um,, other people should return a wallet too..even if it is one cent...i mean i would want mine back too. so you have to think of yourself as if you were in the person's shoes. and i hope the best for your baby, hope he is healthy, safe and happy. :) :D ...cuz i LOVE babies, they are my favourite thing in the whole world ..they're so damn adorable.. i love babies.

I can't believe this has happened to me twice in one day and less than five minutes apart. Not what you did but what I have just read from you and another young female earlier. If there ever was a time for the old cliche "what comes around goes around" it should happen for you now. If it doesn't it will. What you did I would only describe as one of the greatest miracles in the world. Yes you just did this. Not Only did this really help that man out but also will and did already help you. Two people have greatly benefited from one persons selfless act of honesty. That truly is a miracle. AW SOME. I am totally humbled from my last 10 minutes on this site. There is something to be said about that too.

I can't help thinking that your story is a complete lie, but that the cynic in me.

Personally i would've taken the money and made no effort what so ever to find anything out about the guy who lost it.

Plus it would be a good lesson to him not to walk around with $3000 in his wallet and if he did not to loose it in a truck stop.

Probably, I can't handle a guilty conscience and would have hated myself if I kept it. I'm glad that you did the right thing and got a reward for it too! Good for you and that lucky guy that got his money and wallet.

Looks like being honest paid off in the end and you were rewarded for it. Your mind and heart can rest knowing you're a good person.
