1. Alaska is a good country to have seeing it will give you a hold in N America and it is joined to Asia, and because they are on opposite ends of the board, people generally forget to notice that!
2. Then Eastern Europe is good because it is very central and you can get into Asia and Africa from there.
3.Anywhere in Asia as long as you have at least one other country bordering it. Keeping a stronghold on Asia is one of the best things you could do! Slowly you will build your army up there and eventually take over Asia giving you 7 extra men fro the next rounds!
4. Other than that, to have at least one country in every continent is a good thing! Gotta keep the continents out of the hands of your opponents!

Good luck :)

Australia and South America are great continents to try for, especially Australia, which can only be invaded from one direction. If I can keep a firm grip on them, I try for North America next; it has nine countries, but only three of them can be attacked from outside, and if you already have South America, you need only protect Alaska and Greenland.

I also like to heavily guard the countries just outside my continents; for the three I've mentioned, that would mean heavily fortifying Siam, North Africa, Iceland, and Kamchatka. (Also Central America or Venezuela, whichever one applies, if you don't have both North and South America.) This serves the dual purpose of protecting your continent and preventing an opponent from conquering the adjoining continent. Note that I don't try to do this with the other three continents, because they can be attacked from too many directions. It would spread you too thin.

By far, countries in Australia and South America, in that order. It's super important to get the continent bonuses and KEEP getting them!

Africa is the third choice but can be attacked from more places. Europe and Asia are both impossible.

the best is to have a continent that is protected so you get the extra armies for having a continent but can't be attacked from 18 different places. South America and Africa are the best. But the killer countries to have are GB, Iceland and Eygpt so you can protect your *** and attack at the same time

I would say Australia because when you start you can put almost all your armies in a defensive position. And you keep building up your army until "BAM" you sent them out on a merciless killing spree. Works most times for me. If that doesn't work try versing easy people until you get better.

The Congo. If you can control the Congo at the end of the game, you win.
