ultrasounds are not 100% accurate on weight. they guess by measurment and how far along you are. and some babies are a little bigger than others....and the 1.5 ounces is just an average...you and your baby will be fine.

I don't think being big in the beginning means he'll be big in the end. My son was normal all the way through, in month 9 he just suddenly gained a lot of weight and ended up being born on 8 lbs 12 oz - 1 lbs more than the dr predicted.

I think every baby grows differently, my daughter was always measuring too small for her gestational age and I had her at 37 weeks, she weighed almost 7 lbs. With my Current pregnancy I was measuring big at my 20 week u.s. now I am measuring on the small-average side. so, I don't think you can really tell until the end..

Could be that you are further along than your doctor thinks. Or it could just be a big baby. I know a woman who gave birth (not a c-section) to a set of twins. One weighed 14lbs 1oz and the other 14lbs 3 oz. If she can handle two huge babies, you can handle one.

Are you for sure that you are 14 weeks, maybe you are farther long than origianally thought! Atleast your baby is healthy and I would ask the doctor at your next appt just in case. Good Luck
