i've heard baroque and contemporary but i haven't found out

Late Romantic--Early modern. but Rach. actually wrote music that was slightly behind his time. he didnt really care for the more modern sounds of his contemporary fellow russian composers(Shostakovich,Scriabin,Stravinsky). his music is more romantic/classical than one would expect from someone who lived during the late 1800s to early/mid 1900s. b.1873 d. 1943

Rachmaninoff is from the early twentieth century, so would be considered a contemporary composer.
The baroque era started around the 1600's and ended with Bach's death in 1750

Late Romanitc/Early 20th Century (?) Rachmaninoff was born like 200 years after Baroque ended.

Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff was born1 April 1873 and died on 28 March 1943). He was a Russian-American composer, pianist, and conductor. ("Sergei Rachmaninoff" was the spelling the composer himself used while living in the West throughout the latter half of his life).
