Yes, there IS a technical term for this, as I just read an article on it about a month ago. I just can't remember right now what the term was. I know the movie 'Memento' was considered to be one.

I know the literary term for starting a story in the middle and then using flashbacks is called "in medias res". And the Tarantino link...I believe Tarantino lifted this (like many of the things he does) from a French director, Truffaut or Godard.

Begins at the end and then goes backwards through the story I believe is called a regression. There is probably a better term though...I know I heard of it somewhere, but can't think of it right now.

While it might not be the 'official' term, movies with radically skewed time lines, often beginning at the end, are referred to as being 'Tarantinoed' in reference to Quentin Tarantino a director known for using such devices in his films...
