They don't hate eachother... it's all in the competition of the game. They are competitive guys and I am sure that Belicheck was definitely dissappointed to see the guy he was mentoring leave last year for another team in the same division, but they do not hate eachother. And Belicheck did the classy thing in the end and gave him a hug just to say "Hey... nice job this year and good luck with the next one." It's a sport and they have a done alot for eachother... simple as that, everyone wants to win.

No, I think it was because Mangini wanted to take some guys from the Patriots with him. But again, Belichick is just a "mean" guy...who can win games!
