Do you think that Israel will use nuclear weapons against Iran in an attempt to end that country's development of its own nuclear weaponry?

If it does do so, how do you think the USA should and will react?

Today's Sunday Times implies that Israeli plans to strike are well-advanced

It would not at all surprise me if they did, and the USA will wholeheartedly support such an action. Let me tell you if this happens its ww3 for sure.

Let me remind you that Iran can legally produce nuclear power.

If Iran tests a nuclear device like North Korea did I am sure the Israeli jets will be given the order to strike selected targets with low-yield nuclear weapons. US military will supply logistics and surprise. US military already placed next door in Iraq.

US should condemn provacation of Iran and call for peace, as it secretly undermines the mullahs of Iran. The Iranian response will be to send troops into Iraq which will be slaughtered. One big problem, who will occupy Iran? I pray for peace on Earth though.

Only if Iran nukes Israel first. I think the Sunday Times article is crap. The only way the Times would ever know that would be if an Israeli official, and I don't see any Israeli official admitting that to the press, especially if it was true!

Israel will only use the nuclear weapons if it is backed into a corner, they are surrounded by all the arab nations that wish to drive them into the sea.
They are pretty sharp and know the nuclear weapons are the dirty way to destroy this earth.
Iran on the other hand is so consumed with hatred for the Jews, American and British that they cannot and do not even care for their own citizens future and I am sure would never be able to control their loose cannons from pushing the button.

The United States will, of course, condemn any strike made by Isreal. However, behind close doors U.S. officials will be backing the strike. Isreal has a right to defend itself, just as any nation does.

Iran has stated quite a few times that Israel should be obliterated. If they get a nuclear weapon, they will use it against Isreal.

Yep.They don't play.There is no way they will tollerate another nuclear state in the Middle East.If they have to use tactical nuclear weapons to penetrate Iranian research facilaties,they will do so,no question.

i hope it won't come to that, but, yes i think they will because they'll have to. iran's leader, amaddogejad, has said many times that his goal is the complete destruction of israel. so... an analogy,
if someone told me they were going to kill me , while they were in the process of loading the gun , i sure would pull out my gun and blow them away first! it's called self defense ( also common sense). if this scenario happens i believe the usa will stand behind israel as it should,since they have been one of our more faithful allies for quite a long time.

If that were to happen it would only be in retaliation, Israel would not be the one to send the first bomb. The US has a responsibility to defend Israel by any and all means possible, I think we should react by wiping the whole middle east off the map, sounds harsh but as the say "war is hell"

I think it is quite possible for Israel to attack with mild nukes or conventional weaponry.......The U.S. will condem such actions.....publicly (If you know what I mean)...And I think that is the best course of action for western civilization.
