WOW that really depends on how much money and space you have the ability to dedicate to your pet. If you're just beginning, then I'd recommend a common red tail boa. They're quite docile, easy to manage, require a minimal amount of space, and are really great conversation pieces. As you advance, you may want to consider a water monitor. They're a smaller cousin of the Komodo Dragon and aren't deadly. They can be a bit cantankerous, but generally, make good pets if you can dedicate enough time to socialize them. They do, however, require a lot of space (like an entire room) and can be quite expensive to feed.

Lizards are always awesome pets and they are so cute! I have a water dragon at the moment. I have also had Anoles which are small and pretty. Some others I think are really cool and even considered as pets are Bearded Dragons and Geckos.

Snakes are always beautiful too!

Remember to do LOTS of research on your desired pet before you go to the pet store to get your reptile!

In my opinion the best reptile out there for a pet is a bearded dragon. They are the most docile and handlable lizards that I have ever seen and they come in the coolest morphs. People who see mine are amazed at how friendly and actually aftectionate they are.

hi there
theirs lots of first time reptiles ...
lizards:bearded dragons (great personality), gecko's,mali uromastyx... but monitors are not for the inexperience...
snakes: corns, ball pythons, children python, rainbow boa's sand boa's... stick with small snakes first ... red tail boa's are great but they do get 10+ and will need a large cage burmese.rocks and reticulated get way too big and not for the inexperience

try a ball python, as long as you're ok with feeding it live mice.
