i waited tables and bartended all through college, it was great money but maybe not the best atmosphere to be in, late nights and weekends were hard to study around. My grandfather gave me the best advice, when you get your paycheck (or tips) put 15% of it into savings ASAP, you will be surprised how much you can save! Best of luck.....

i would try to get an internship that you can structure around school. try to get one in a field where you would like to work such as finance...intern at a brokerage firm, or for a sports team or arena..something like that. These places will give you a good shot at a full time job when you graduate if you are nice, can add some value, and show some base line intelligence. don't underestimate being pleasant. the reason many companies are mediocre is that they hire pleasantness over talent. so be pleasant and play the game...lol. If you are a waiter/tress (which I never was) I would work at a restaurant with business clientele that order expensive wine. why? the tip is based on the total bill, correct? not a lot of labor in pouring a $400 bottle of wine. I am amazed at dinners why every college student that can handle it does not work at Mortons, or flemmings, or ruth chris, etc. good luck

waiter / waitress, retail
flexible hrs, decent money.
save money... really depends on how your school is set up. buy used books, eat ramen noodles, find a cheaper dorm, cheap landry place, by cheaper clothes... it all depends.
