I had dreads for 16 years... This was back when very few people sported them.. Dreads are ( in my case more of a religious thing NOT a fashion thing) They are great, but they can hurt sometimes and the only way out is to shave your lid.... And some people will discriminate against them....

I thought it was 'dredds' but maybe I am mistaken. Anyway, yes I had them done a few years ago by a Jamaican friend and I loved them. They took about 6 hours to do as I had long, thick hair and they stayed in for 6 months, after which I had to get them all cut off as they were beginning to hurt. You clean your head by running some fine powder over your scalp and that's about it. They are fantastic in hot weather. If you are having them done, go to a decent place as badly done dredds/dreads can break your hair and they never look right.

I did... used to be down to the middle of my back... they were salon started and I made the mistake of cutting them :(...I miss them so much.

ew a tour guide on a river rafting thing i went on had them....and he was hitting on me i have nightmares about dreadlocks now they were gross bfor that, though ewewewewewewewewewewewewewewewewew!
