The pigs would be in a pin, but a pretty big and open one. I would put regular pasture fencing around it. I have bobcats too, but they tend to eat the quail and cats. Will the coyotes hop the fence? And the goats would be in the 10 ac pasture with the cows. The baby cows dont get eaten, so id imagine the goats wouldnt, but those coyotes gang up. Any experience?

Coyotes will definitely attack and kill goats. There are several things you can do to keep them safer, however. The first is your fencing, keep in mind that you not only want to keep the goats in, you want to keep predators out. The best solution is a livestock guardian. There are several breeds of dogs bred specifically for this reason. Llamas and donkeys can also make good guardians. Do your research before deciding on the type of guardian that would be best for you. There are pros and cons to every kind. I have a Great Pyrenees dog and llamas with my goats and the have done a wonderful job keeping them safe.

If you keep the pigs in a pen that has at least 5 foot fences, they should be fine. and don't always worry about goats, they can defend themselves pretty well. My little girl beat the heck out of an aussie shepherd, now the dog won't go near her. kinda funny actually. But five feet is a great height.

I was going to say that in someplaces it is okay to eat dogs, cats, guinea pigs?, and goats. I myself have eaten goat. Goat is good. I like dogs and could not eat one as dogs are my friends generally speaking. Cats I can do without and they can stay off of my dinner table too. Now as for the guinea pigs, well they are nothing but an exotic rat. I will not eat rat! But, if you would like to eat rat, enjoy, don't let me stop you.

I would imagine that coyotes would attack them if they had the chance. It is food and pigs nor goats have the abilities to fight them off or defend themselves against coyotes.

get yourself a good dog, and you won't have that problem. There ae dogs actually bred to be guards for herds Try one that is part Akbash. they are very gentle with children, but wouldn't let a coyote or cougar near the flock.

well,i show pigs and we never had a problem w/ coyotes,we had reg. fences around it and the thing that prolly kept them away is that we had a light that we always have on in tha dark.
