Many of the pediatric drugs are dosed in mg/Kg. The liquid suspensions are packaged in mg/ml or G/dl. The Dr then has to convert G/dl to mg/ml and then give the required number of ml based on the childs weight in Kg. An overdose can result in liver or kidney damage. An underdose will not adequately treat the child's problem.

That's an odd question. Are you doing an assignment where you've been asked to tell how math is used in your chosen career?
A pediatrician uses math constantly, as all doctors do. Chemistry is an important part of medicine, and math is an important part of chemistry.
For example, a doctor needs to know how much of a drug to prescribe, and what dose the patient should take daily. The dose can depend on the patient's age and physical size. The doctor needs math to determine what does the patient needs, how long they should take the drug, and therefore how much of the drug they need overall.
A pediatrician also needs math for bookeeping purposes. You have to charge your patients for your services, and you have to keep track of payments from many different sources (insurance, Medicare, cash, checks, etc.) as well as money spent. Of course a pediatrician would have an office manager to take care of this, but if the doctor can't do the math herself, she's likely to get cheated by her employees. Medicine is a business too, after all.

Pediatricians use little or no math, if any, of their ordinary day by day activities. provided that they are engaged in examine is math previous straight forward arithmetic of any value to them. Sorry in the experience that your math instructor would not like that answer, in spite of the shown fact that it quite is actual. the commencing up earnings for pediatricians varies drastically.

lots of ways . They graph growth of the child . They figure out amount of medicine to prescribe to the child. There are many more pretty much any time there is science ther is math. Basic accounting to make sure they are getting paid. Plus probably hundreds of daily tasks that everyone else uses.
