If you mean in the UK and if you mean to the man ,99% of the time there are none ,or they are so trivial they`re hardly worth mentioning .The best a woman can hope for after phoning the police ,and if they actually bother to come out on the same day is if he carries on being abusive in front of them they might remove him from the house .They then put him in the car but let him out around the next corner .After which he comes back puts all the windows through kicks down the door and beats her up again
If he`s stupid enough to attack the police they take him to the cells beat him up ,then produce him in court the next morning ,where he gets a fine or bail gets out and then a repeat of the above
they only do anything if someone ends up dead or not far off
The other alternative is if the woman and any children go to a refuge ,if social services can find them a place (this could be anywhere in the country ).These places are run like victorian hospitals with so many rules they are worse than a prison and with some matron type of women there making every ones life hell .,They either stay there for years ,or decide home is the lesser of two evils and leave
after a few years she has had enough ,stabs him and then goes to prison for life

30 years ago you either patched things up or split up. Today, if a nosy neighbor complains of a domestic argument, one of the family usually goes to jail, the other to a battered wife shelter. The incidents of death and serious injury due to domestic violence are about the same now (per capita) as back then. The consequences today are far worse than back then, because the government is here to help you.... Many broken families and parent-less children because of liberal government interference...

Generally the female get's the crap beat out of her, the guy goes to jail for very long time.

The female rather than seek counseling to overcome the emotional and physical abuse becomes a mouthy biatch and continues to carry this baggage into other relationships.

Ultimately she ends up getting slapped around again and again in relationship after relationship. While guy's go to jail.

What society ought to do is lock up both parties in a domestic situation as both are contributors to the confrontation.

domestic violence isnt always being hit, it includes verbal and sexual abuse too, most women r too scared to call the police and end up believing their partner is doing something good, if the woman duz seek help she can b put in a womans refuge and the male if charges r pressed can b jailed for life althow it hardly happens. seeking help early alows for emotional recovery. makes trusting men difficult but possible.

As someone said earlier, it takes two to tango, and both parties usually make a contribution in their own dysfunctional ways.
Consequence can be ruined lives, with both being scarred in different ways.
Sometimes even the children are scarred.

There are several things that could happen. First, you can be removed from your house. If there are kids involved and there is only one car you could lose this as well. You can be charged criminally, you can end up locked up, and you can also end in divorce losing most everything.
