so there was once a poor man with 2 sons. he was getting really old so one day he said " you boys divide up the land once i die".

his sons each took half of the land. but they were not happy. the elder brother said that the younger brother had more land. the younger brother said that the older brother had more land. ( hint: the lands were equal anyways).

but no matter what, they argued and said that the other had more land. so they went to court and spoke with the judge.

the judge said something that solved the whole problem. just 1 sentence.

what was the sentence??? hint: the lands were equal.

reply back please if you think you have an answer!

swap

if they both thought they had the smaller half then they should swap and both be happy.

Judge should tell one son to divide the land, the other to choose which one he wanted after the division. The one who divides it will do his best to make it as fair and equal as possible. The one who chooses gets to pick which one he believes is best, which if the first divides it perfectly, both will be equal.

Trade land.

If the land was truly equal, but they both thought that the other had the bigger tract, then he told them to trade their tracts. That way they both would think they had the bigger tract.

Or he said "justice and equality for all" and made them leave.

Trade the parcels of land. <-- If one brother thought that the other had more land, then they should agree to swap each other
