I have pubic hair and it gets annoying sometimes. Should I shave it or not? Are you supposed to for health reasons or is it just a personal opinion/comfort thing?

i recently read in a magaine that shaving the pubes is the up and coming practice of the metrosexual population. it's done to achieve perfect grooming. many men are cearing their pits and chests of hair, also. apparently, they ad their partner find the hair unattractive; wanting an overall smooth look.
bottom line----do what you're comfortable doing.

No. It can actually cause health problems, as you are more likely to get both bacterial and fungal skin infections without the protective hair, and, as an answerer already noticed, you're more likely to stink.

There are a few good reasons to shave it:

--you have crabs - definitely easier to get rid of crabs if you shave
--you're going to have chemo, and it will fall out anyway
--you just want to stay a little boy and not grow up - or your woman prefers pre-pubescent boys to real men
--you watch a lot of porn and think those guys should be your role models
--you LOVE zits, bumps, and rashes down there because it gives you an excuse to scratch your balls

If none of the above is true, keep the hair; it's much healthier and more hygienic.

its kind of less hygienic because the hair helps air circulate around and without it it sometimes easily gets sweaty and stronger odor but it is really your choice just be warned the first few times you shave you will acquire what appears to be acne but that's just irritated skin its nothing at all to worry about ^_^ hope that was useful I'm sure if you do that last part will save you some worry heh

EDIT: And just thought Id add as for the are you supposed to in reality not really but then again its the same thing as are woman suppose to shave their legs just do it if you want to woman don't have to shave their legs and aren't really suppose to though there's no drawbacks to it and these days its kind of icky if a woman doesn't and now I kinda forget where I'm going with this hopefully you got it >_>

Shaving your pubic hair can be both fashionable and hygenic. Pubic hair can harbour pubic lice. Personally, I find that there is increased pleasure during sexual intercourse.

I use the Seiko Cleancut and Shavy trimmer to shave off all my pubic hair. Its used by thousands worldwide and leaves you with baby soft skin. It doesn't nick, cut or bite so won't leave you with razor burn either.

There are no rules. If you want to that do it be who you are. If you do shave don't shave to the skin because it would look wierd to a partner. Also, if you shave it was grow back twice as thick.

no one has to shave their pubic hair for health reasons. it has nothing to do with healths reasons. but, if you want to be more hygenic and clean shave it off. it doesn't really matter, as long as you want to or don't want to do it. it is just your personal opinion and choice.

It is well recommended to trim the pubic area to look more hygiene and nicer "look"

I would recommend trimming at least, and as I have heard on other blogs, shaving itches really bad :)
