Several singers, Pop, Rock, and Country, have performed a song titled "Have I told you Lately That I Love You?" Elvis Presly, Rick(y) Nelson, Rod Stewart, Floyd Cramer, Marty Robbins, etc. Rod Stewart's song is, I think, TOTALLLY differant from some of the others I've heard. Give us some more details, so we know which one you are talking about.

I agree with Divachick the original song was the one that was sung long before Rod Stewart ,I used to play it on the accordion as a boy and I am older that Rod Stewart.I must admit when I heard him sing it I thought what the hell has he done with a good song. Who wrote it sorry It was a long time ago.

Have I Told You Lately

Originally written and performed by Van Morrison

Remade by Rod Stewart and hit #5 on the Top 40 charts on 5/15/93

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do.

Oh the morning sun in all it's glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
And you fill my life with laughter
You can make it better
Ease my troubles that's what you do

There's a love that's divine
And it's your's and it's mine
Like the sun at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray to the one

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do.

(Instrumental Break)

There's a love that's divine
And it's your's and it's mine
And it shines like the sun
At the end of the day
We will give thanks and pray
To the one.

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one above you
Fill my heart with gladness, take away my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do.

Are you possibly talking about the one written by Gene Autry? It goes:
Have I told you lately that I love you
Could I tell you once again somehow
Have I said with all my heart and soul how I adore you
Well, darling, I'm telling you now
...and so on...
