my brother is gonna get a 360 for his birthday this year, so i thougt i mght ask this. do u need a credit card for xbox live? i mean, im only 14, so i cant get a credit card, so could i pay for gold membership like a pre-paid cell phone, where i just go to gamestop, buy a 12-month card, and put it on my account? i mean, i know u can do that, but can u just do that without a credit card, then when u run out of months, u just go down to a silver membership?

Yes i have Xbox live and have never used a Credit Card. Buy a 12 month card and then you enter the code on the back onto your 360.

Yes they are the same thing. Xbox Live is on the Xbox 360. Xbox live is online. You can basically play with friends and other people. He probably meant xbox live as in getting the membership. It doesnt cost much for the 1 month gold membership, its about $7.00, goes up to the highest $49.00 for a 12 month. That guy said you pay per year. No you dont. you can get the membership whenever you want, and cancel it whenever you want. You can either buy the memberships from a game store, or on the xbox 360 when he has an online account.

Yes there are two ways of getting Xbox Live the first and easiest is getting it online while using Xbox Live Silver and upgrading the second way is buying a card code for a certain amount of time. Also be prepaired to spend some cash for the 12-month xbox live account

Yes, you can buy a prepaid Live card at any electronic retailers and yes your membership will be back at the silver level after the subscription ran out.
