Yes it hurts but there is this strange occurrence that lets women forget how bad it really was. Probably what ensures the survival of the species. I had forgotten how bad it was with my first and I had no drugs or gas with her which is why she has a younger brother(3 years between the two) I was in labour with him for 4 days and I can't remember anything except how mad I was the hospital kept sending me home and that was a year ago. Hmm probably a good thing the old man got a vasectomy. Good luck and don't worry.

DO NOT be scared. It's not as bad as people make it sound. The last babies I seen born were my nieces 2 1/2 years ago. When I went to see my sister & sister n law in the hospital they were just laughing away. No Pain. They just pushed a button when they started hurting. I thought it was a little unfair since I didn't get that 14 years ago with my son. But I think now a days it's much easier depending on the doctor. Believe it not when it's over you will hardly remember the pain. Good Luck

I was scared to death when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. But I started reading books and signed up for childbirth classes. My husband and I learned how to work together during labor. I learned how to breath with the contractions and we did a great job giving birth to 2 beautiful children with no drugs. Not everyone can do it this way but for us, it was wonderful.

I think you are afraid because you don't know what to expect, right? Educate yourself and you will feel so much better!

Best of luck to you, may God give you wisdom and strength. You can do this, it's been happening for thousands of years to every mother on earth! You will be so glad when it is over and you are holding the sweet little baby in your arms!

My first pregnancy I lost the baby mid-term and still had to go through labor and delivery and yes it hurt because they still had to induce me....but with my 2nd birth (my son now 7) I had the most wonderful anesthesiologist and didn't fell a thing until my son's head was right on my pelvic bone and it only hurt for a few seconds, after that I did really good and I didn't even have a lot of pain from my son coming out so fast that he "tore" me slightly...the Doc told me "He came out so fast I didn't even have time to give you an episiotomy." LOL Two days later I was kickin it friends and family at Thanksgiving. Good Luck!!!

Labor is natural. therefore most people instinctively now how to deal with their own pain once labor truly begins. My labor went by so quickly that dreaming about the baby kept me from taking the drugs, but they are there if you need them. The only part that hurt in my childbearing story is the fact that my placenta didn't deliver naturally, the doctor had to reach up inside of me and pull it out. Other than that I'd definatley do it again.

Yes i have had 3 and a 4th on the way. Yes lobor hurts.. but its kinda worth it in the end. There are pain reliefs you can get tho to help with the pain. Like an Epidural, etc. Me i never had anything tho the thought of them sticking something into my spine was a big No No.. lol i just delt with the pain. hehe

Well...hmmm what do you think? Have you lived in a cave all your life. Why do you think it's called labour...because it's hard work.
On the other hand it doesn't last forever, and you will have the best thing in the world to you .....your own child. Good luck

No I never have children. I am married to a wondeful husband. We do hope to have children someday. I been told by someone, the labor is painful, but in the end it worth it.

Yes, but it's one of those pains you forget about almost as soon as the baby is born. If you are really worried about it believe me it's all worth it, remember to breath and if you yell and scream it will only tire you out and your labor will only last longer. Good luck and remember to ask for help when you need it. :)
