1)Thanks in part to Ted Kennedy's objection to the Cape Wind project, wind-power projects all over the country have ground to a halt.
2)Joe Kennedy wants to build a wind farm on Canada's most important bird watching areas but not in Massachusetts.
3)Democratic lawmakers have introduced a bill to make an Alaskan wildlife refuge into a permanently protected wilderness. That would end repeated efforts to make some of the area available to energy companies. Congressman Edward Markey ,says drilling there would be a declaration that the U.S. is in denial about what he calls an addiction to oil.

Not many. We have numerous wind farms in California, yet they cannot be run at even quarter capacity, because birds might hit the fans. Nuclear power is repeatedly voted down, despite not having any incidents in the US. They are rare all over the world as well. We can't even drill for Oil domestically.
I am all for alternative energy sources, but that is going to take time, so until then lets use what is available here until alternatives become viable.

We don't have the resources or the manpower to control the entire Middle East. Nowhere close to enough. And since the Middle East hasn't known peace in at least half a centuries, if not multiple centuries, it's reasonable to assume that there will continue to be significant conflict in the region for several decades, if not longer. So, the question is -- why should we throw teaspoons of water on what is already a raging far? We can't put it out the flames with what we have, and all we can do is get burned in the process. So, either we change the model, and try something completely different, or we allow other countries to govern themselves and fight among themselves if they want. Either way, what we're currently trying is not going to stop the fire.

That's easy, history will just repeat it's self. It is now incontrovertible fact that Alberta (that's in Canada, just north of Montana for all you that went to public schools) has oil reserves that make the Mideast look like a kiddy pool....
And now the fun starts... Not one word on NBC-CBS evening news... wonder why? Oil prices?

I live in Minnesota and there are wind farms popping up all over...there are 2 ethanol plants within 50 miles...I live in farm country and farmers are also doing non-till planting (saving fuel). I live on the prairie, and I don't have a problem with someone raising objection to a wind farm near a place they don't want spoiled, there are millions of acres out here for wind farms and people are putting them up...you sound a bit partisan about this and are probably unlikely to see progress in front of you.

They bottled all the hot air from the Libs before election. Will be shipping 3 bottles aday to Kennedy to replace those Wind farms he down't want near his compound (20 miles out) You know what? The swimmer wouldn't even be able to see them from his rocker.

Conservation, which does not work. They are so indebted to the whacko environmentalists that no real reform can happen. The bigger problem is there are too many idiot Republicans who got in the way of domestic drilling.

It really doesn't matter what the Democrats options are relating to the Middle east. You see Miss Republican, the Middle Eastern natural resources ARE NOT OURS. And killing everyone over there, while it might make them ours via the spoils of war, still does not make it OK.

You republicans are INSANE. Democrats are nuts too though...
