it should bolt up,but you have no speedo sensor,no kickdown linkage,and you will have abs problems as it cannot see signal from reluctor wheel on trans..better to repalce with what it takes than what might work..youll spend more time trying to make a driveshaft to fit than what its worth,the overdrive on the auto is a saver for mpg on that truck.

there two completely different transmissons. one out of the 97 is electronic shift control, the 1980 is not.

not likely, tranny and motor need to match up and those models are 17 years apart, the factory has forgotten what they did before so how could these things go together...

no its not even close to the same mounting it wont line up and even if it did it would work. 97 is computerized and 80 is not
