Do the kids have authority over parents now?And if so,is the government to blame?

I get the impression that if the kids aren't listening to their parents, it is generally the parents' fault. Then again, it's too easy to just say, "It's your fault they don't listen to you, deal with it." To a certain extent, it's the social atmosphere we live in. If you hit your kids in any way (from pinching to spanking), you're looked down upon by others who see you as an abuser. But treat them too nicely, and when they grow up to be spoiled, everybody turns to you and says, well it's your fault for raisng them. I'm a kid myself, so, from personal experience, I would say the best way to have authority over your kids is for them to respect you. Don't say, "Do this, or this will happen." Just tell them to do it, and if they don't, then punish them. No threats, just expectations.
If this doesn't work, guilt trips will generally invoke obediance.

If a kid has too much authority over the parents, the only one to blame are the parents.

Kids have no authority over parents. However, some parents spoil their kids and let them get away with all kinds of things & realize it only when it's too late when they start doing illegal things. That's when the government takes over.

Huh? No way ... you are the parent and they are the child. If they want to be a problem then , there are places to put these problem kids! At no time should a child ever have authority over the parent. If they do it is the parents fault!

Yes they do!!!......Whose is to blame? The Parents are. They are the ones that enacted all these laws and Time Outs.....The Government should backhand the parents

No children don't,only parents who are afraid of their kids.The government,doesn't care about you or me,just printing money... and stealing it,with absolutely,no consequences... Because they hold office
