my dad wasnts to know how to clean his computer screen it has fingers all over it and its a laptop if it mattters

They sell special cleaners for this at Office Depot or Best Buy. It's kind of pricey. But make sure you use a soft cloth cause you don't want to scratch your screen.

If you read any instruction about LCD you find that you can clean your LCD with clear damp pad , only clean your LCD with it , but if you want better result you can make this liquid and clean your monitor ( I learn it from one LG instruction monitor )
Mix :
70% Water
10% Alcohol
20% Cleaner Liquid ( any liquid that produced for monitors )

spray some windex on a paper towel (not to much)
wipe down the screen

I use nothing but water and a very soft cloth.
DO NOT use paper of any kind on a flat panel.
