Leona Lewis stays top of revamped charts Sunday January 7, 07:08 PM

LONDON (Reuters) -"X Factor" winner Leona Lewis held onto the top position for a second week in the new-look singles charts on Sunday with her debut single "A Moment Like This", the Official UK Charts Company (OCC) said.

Billed as one of the biggest shake-ups since its inception 54 years ago, Sunday's chart was the first time the OCC had included any song available as an Internet download regardless of its release date.

Previously only songs which were physically available for purchase in shops had counted towards the weekly chart.
The OCC said the "dramatic development" would be more reflective of what music Britons were buying, and could mean that old tunes, tracks by unknown artists or unreleased songs on albums might hit the top of the charts.

Eric Prydz vs Floyd's "Proper Education" soared 75 places to take the number two spot.

The track by Swedish house star Prydz, best known for the dance hit "Call on Me," incorporates David Gilmour's original vocal from the Pink Floyd classic "Another Brick in the Wall".

In October 2004, Prydz topped the charts after weekly sales of just over 23,000 copies, the lowest ever.

Take That's "Patience" dropped one to three, just ahead of Irish Rockers U2 and "Window in the Skies", the only new entry in the top 10.

Akon featuring Eminem with "Smack That" fell one place to five, while Booty Luv's "Boogie 2nite" held on to the number six spot.

Cascada's remake of Savage Garden's "Truly Madly Deeply" slipped two to seven, with another non-mover Sharam's "PATT (Party All The Time)" at eight.

At nine was Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" -- clearly a benefactor from the new OCC rules as it was released back in January -- while Chris Connell and "You Know My Name" closed out the top 10.

In the album charts Take That's "Beautiful World" was unchanged at number one, while Any Winehouse and "Back to Black" rose 16 to two, with Snow Patrol's "Eyes Open" album a non-mover at three.
