Well this year there weren't any real summer blockbusters, but Hollywood more than made up for it in Fall and Winter. The Departed is supposed to be a fantastic movie, good acting, good script, good plot. While The Last King Of Scotland is probably going to give Forest Whitaker an Oscar. Blood Diamond is also supposed to be good. Children Of Men is being considered as Alfonso Cuaron's best movie, as well as Clive Owen's, while Little Miss Sunshine and Borat! are nominated for Best Comedy in the Golden Globes. Pan's Labyrinth is one of the best fantasies in recent memory. Pursuit of Happyness is one of the years best dramas, with Will Smith's best performance yet. The Good Shepherd also deserves recognition, with a good cast consisting of Matt Damon and Robert DeNiro. Babel and The Queen are also great dramas, with key performances by Cate Blanchett (the best actress today) and Helen Mirren. For some more great movies check out the link below.

I went to the cinema 120 times last year. There were lots of great movies and quite a few that have stuck with me. I guess the measure of what I thought was the best movie is the one I'd most like to see again if I could and I'd have to say....
Apocalypto....
It took me by surprise, I never thought I'd like anything from Mel Gibson and it felt incredibly fresh and visceral. Great stuff....
If I can have a runner up it would be Little Children...A great film about small town attitudes based on a fantastic book.

Off the top of my head, I try to remember what movies I saw that I thought were really good. "Who killed the Electric Car?', "Cars" was better than expected, though it kind of dragged in the middle. "Little Miss Sunshine" was hilarious. But that is me. The Electric Car is a documentary, sounds like science fiction - a car that you plug in and drive all day, and operating cost is the equivalent of when gas was 60 cents a gallon. Cars is a kids movie, so if you go to it with kids, it ended up being better, like Toy Story or Monsters Inc. Little Miss Sunshine is funny if you think a really dysfunctional family going all out to get their daughter in a beauty contest is funny. I could answer better if you told me what some of your favorite movies of all time were, or what you like.

I see many movies and the only one this year that actually left me feeling in awe was the new James Bond movie: Casino Royale. It is amazing. The stunt work is incredible...the plot line is perfection....and the action combined with love interest....appeals to everyone.
