Renfrewshire in Scotland has well documented evidence and nightly sightings of panther type creatures.

Well seeing as the heads of the police force down south recentley met to discuss this issue I'd say yes. What happened was when they introduced the exotic/wilde pets act in the 70's a lot of animals were released into the wild so their owners didn't have to pay thousands of pounds in licences. Nature took its course an they bread. There not as wide spread as first thought, though there is documented evidence from vets that concluded that certain injuries and deaths of cattle, mainly sheep, could only have been caused by big cats.

Definitely.
In my neck of the woods (Cornwall) there have been sightings of "The Beast Of Bodmin Moor". There are photographs and videos of black panther like cats and also paw prints from which you can tell their size. They are roughly as big as a labrador dog. Sheep have been killed and evidence of big claw marks found on them.
The local news programmes have done serious items about these cats giving the viewpoint that the cats were set free from private zoos years ago (due to legistlation) and must now be breeding.

Yes I do. People have caught them in pictures around the Kent area - cats that are too big to be domestic ones. I know back in the 70's/80's people had private zoo's with big cats. Then new laws came in and lots of the cats were just let loose - they must have gone somewhere xxx

Anything is possible, in our area we have flocks of parakeets, not a natural habitat for them, but some were released years ago and couldn't be recaptured and now they breed and live quite happily in our local parks etc. not quite the same as big cat, but cats are just as adaptable.

No. I know some were released from private zoos prior to legislation but you would have to have a the same species released together or near each other and have a viable food supply. The food supply (deer) is there but i just don't believe there were enough animals of the same type would have been released together or in the same area.

Plenty of fat cats in the Private Sector! Sorry, we've supposedly got them down here in Devon but I've never seen one.

there have been some that have been shot so we know they do exist, But there are a lot of dodgy photos too, it adds interest to an area if you want to attract tourist so I am sure there are more false claims than true ones.
