This is usually done, by going to the mouse settings in the Control Panel, and somewhere is the settings should be an option to turn off your touch pad. If you need anymore info, let me know.

I have a Dell. When I plug in my mouse into the USB port in the back, the mouse is operational...but I can still use the pad. This was a problem when I would use the keyboard; I was touching the pad accidentally. So I got an separate full sized keyboard, plugged that in, and all is well.

seem contained in the administration panel below Mouse. click on device settings. Your Touchpad could take position there contained in the contraptions itemizing. extreme gentle the device, now you may have the capacity to click on the Disable button. If for some reason it isn't listed there, Contol Panel/device/device manager scroll right down to Moue and different pointing contraptions. click to improve and your touchpad could be in there. no matter if it isn't then you definitely don't have one  From there you *might want to* uninstall the drivers yet then in case you wanted the pad later you're stuck searching them. maximum laptops have a *warm* key to press to reveal on and off the pad. Mine is "Fn*F7* in case you would possibly want to no longer locate it there , Re-boot and get into the BIOS. There could be a "change" to run the unit on mouse in consumer-friendly words/mouse and touchpad/touchpad in consumer-friendly words.

Plug a mouse into it then restart. You may need to install the mouse if it came with a disc.
Then it should work.
