I think a ladies man falls into two catagories, a man who has a way with the ladies, and a playa.
A true ladies man loves women, all women, and they seem to love him back equally. He has style, grace, charm, and wit. His girls know he is not faithful, but they ignore it because he make them feel like queens while they're with him. If he should lose the attention of one of his ladies (or is forced to let her go due to her wanting committment), he is saddened by it (though certainly not slowed down, lol) and will remember her fondly in the years that pass by her actual name, and not as "that ho I met back in 03". He is certainly a dying breed.
A playa loves hoochie, all hoochie, and doesn't really care what is attached to it as long as it looks good on his arm. He has a smooth tongue, and can lie without a second thought. If one of his girls tries to straighten his act up, or threatens to leave him for his lying, dog in heat ways, he kicks her to the curb and forgets all about her by the next day. Sadly he seems to be the replacement for the old skool ladies man.

That would be a man, `shallow' women fawn over and, when he marries her and starts to cheat (with other women), they appear on the Jerry Springer Show and take part in a huge fistfight. :-)

A man the ladies like because he knows how to act like a gentleman. See, a real gentleman hates to say "no" to a lady. So he seldom lets himself get in a situation where it is necessary. Now, a lady who knows this can take advantage of that, but it must not be an unfair advantage.
Fair advantage is what is done with a twinkle in your eye. Like the time I said, "Would you do me a favor?" "Of course, anything, my lady." (We were in the SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronisms, which I recommend.) "Would you please make love to me?" "Of course, my lady."
Sort of like the Princess Bride: "As you wish."
