what to take to new york?????????

hii iam going to new york in a few weeks, need tips on what to take and a few outfits that i could wear, what i hav heard from people is that i will find it really cold as i find mostly anything below 5 degrees celcious absolutly frezzing, i dont really hav any jackets mostly thin hoodies i have tonnes of them, and some jumpers just tell me some outfits i can wear and what clothes to take

Ok i live right by NY and im there all the time.
First of all bring a couple jackets. Its not gonna get too cold over the next few weeks so you can probably bring light jackets
but at night it gets cold so you may need a heavier jacket for at night
also, if you plan on going to nice restaurants bring a couple nice outfits but during the day jeans are fine.

Invest in a jacket. You could luck out as this winter has been abnormally warm, but I wouldn't want to take my chances in a zip up in New York in the middle of winter. I live in Boston which has a similar climate and this last week was warm enough to be comfortable outside in jeans and a long sleeved shirt, but the weather here is hard to predict so pay attention to the forecast. Just wear whatever you usually do but be practical given the weather.

bring anything that says ny on it.find a big interior-fur coat to wear there.flashy clothes are very popular in ny so bring alot of those.watch some movies that are set in new york and observe what they wear.wear hoodies underneath your big coat if its cold.wear just the hoodie in the daytime cause it won't be as cold.bring your fanciest clothes,shoes and accessories...buy some new ones too.

bring the hoodies that you have. make sure to layer and bring more than one jacket just in case. dont worry for some reason its like 40 degrees in ny.
