Hi! I'm writing this for my grandmother who is in Europe, and as someone of you may know, its very hard to find a good doctor and very expensive to buy all kinds of medicine so thats why I'm here. I don't really know who to ask or where to look for my answer so I'm going to try it here and see what happens. About 2 months ago my grandmother broke her thigh bone( a little higher then her knee ) she fell, and all the doctors told us that her bone was not going to grow back together.... it did after only 2 months which I think is a miracle because she is 82 years old. But now, even though her bone is getting better and better with every day, her knee does not want to move. The liquid in her knee hardened and doesn't want to move at all. She started to massage it, putting warm/hot things on her knee, actually trying to move and bend the knee... but we don't know if its going to work or not... also she's taking medicine I'm not sure what's the name of it, but she takes it to get rid of the pain. ALSO a week ago she started to get this weird very hard to explain feeling. She says its like if you had a rope and you twist it around your legs really really tight and left it like that for a couple of hours. She says it burns and is very painful. Also she says the skin feels dry on her legs like her legs are drying out on the inside.... please help me, my mom, and my GRANDMA.

I wouldn't know what to tell you, other than this needs to be evaluated by a doctor I would say asap! I am very sorry to hear that, because i have had trouble with my legs too, and I am not elderly and it is a pain no matter what your age! It could be a number of problems, and the age factor doesn't help. SHe could have damaged a vein, in which she should have it checked to make sure it is not DVT or deep vein thrombosis, which is basically a clot that if it breaks off it could lodge anywhere causing a stroke or worse. I am not trying to scare you, believe me, but this is serious! It is really a shame that medical help anywhere in the world is either not available or where it is available it is too costly. It could be simple nerve damage, which can feel like pain. It's hard to say. If sshe's on any kinds of medication that ciould be it too...who knows? I only wish her the best! >hugs< from America! :)

www.health.yahoo.com or health.yahoo.com
you should be able to get anwsers there

You could also talk to a diffrent doctor about it. it sounds like a type of artheritiss and with the bone being broke you should just talk to a doc.

Good luck and God bless my prayers with your grandmother and your family
