He started telling me he was in love with me, and I was his best friend, when I had just considered him someone to talk to once in a while, we had known each other for about a month. He would tell me he took drugs and all about his horrible life to mke me feel bad for him, which i'm certain was all bullshit...he copied a lot of things I did and consistently told me he was in love with me, calling me 'my love' so I just stopped talking to him because I was getting so freaked out. Now I guss he hates me because I did'nt tell him why I won't talk to him any longer. Am I wrong for this? Just Wondering...♥

No. I'm sure if you would have tried to explain to him that he was being obsessive he would have tried to lay another guilt trip on you so that you wouldn't want to stop talking to him. I'm sure he's gotten the picture that his little obession has ended and that he should move on. Sometimes people just get too worked up over the internet. You talk to someone for a few weeks and all of a sudden your suppose to be best buds...not, life isn't like that. It's not your fault he took things too far.

I've been in similar situations. My problem is I had trouble w/assertiveness. Once you get a feeling they like you and you don't feel the same, you just have to tell them straight out that you're not interested in them. And if they get mad and whatever then that's their fault not yours. You are just being honest w/how you feel. You have to do this the moment you sense discomfort in you. Trust me I've tried the ignore the problem and it'll go away but it'll come back in a different way in your life till you stand up for yourself and what YOUR BEST INTEREST is, not theirs. Don't care about what others think. You just have to look out for you and what you want

Well, I suppose you could have told him why in some fashion, but as to the issue of cutting him loose, you did what you felt was best. Have no regrets.
