well for one thing don't be one of those girls who get consumed by a guy and drop their friends. That's a display of someone who has low self-esteem and she ends up ruining a lot of friendships. Tell your friend what's going on and reassure her that your friendship will not change. You still love her and you will still be there for her. And if you're on the phone with her and he calls, don't hang up with your friend...that's rude. Tell him you'll call him back in a few minutes and finish the convo with your friend. Just try not to get consumed with your relationship. Relationships will come and go but your friends will always be there (unless you mess them up).

Hi i think you should just forget about the guy. Yes if your best mate has no feelings for him anymore then you can do what you want. But really you shouldnt of told her when she was going out with him that you fancied him because he was her man. How do you know he feels the same about you ? Just leave him to the back of you mind, if he makes your best friend mad then dont bother with him and find someone else. Loosing a best friend is stupid for a guy that isnt even a best friend and you dont even know him. Dont risk losing everything. If you do you may feel bad about yourself and lose a best friend and a boyfriend. Also stay away from the bloke if your mate is going out with him. Its her place to talk with him.

If your that close then a guy wont come between you. Explain to her how you feel, and tell her that you dont want him to come between you. Talk to her and try and find out what exactly her problem is with this guy. Try and let her know that even if you do go out with him, that she will always be ypur best mate and he isnt going to replace her

I would give him the swerve your mates come first you want to meet a guy they get on with as well your mates are usually the best judge of character and it can be difficult going to mates for relationship advice if they are biased cos they dont like him.

Listen to your friend but don't let her control your life when it comes to following your heart in Love.
If she is a devious friend then she maybe trying to steer you away from him so that she can take over and fill your shoes. However if she genuinely dislikes this man then you have to ask yourself why? Maybe she is trying to save you from future heartache and pain. Maybe she knows more about him than she is letting on to you.
If she is a true friend then yes she will let you know what she thinks and may well be trying to protect you but Ultimately it is you that has to decide on your course of action.
Tell her that you love and appreciate her friendship but sometimes you have to find out for yourself. If she turns out to be right about him, then take it firmly on the chin, release her from any blame and learn to make better judgements next time.
Other than that FOLLOW YOUR OWN HEART WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE.

There's no need for it to ruin the friendship. If you are sure about this guy, mention to your friend how you feel and see how she reacts. If she's a good friend, she won't let it come between you, you're not asking her to date him! But why does your friend hate him so much? Has he done stuff you don't know about that makes your friend mistrust him?

If she's a true friend, she'll make allowances. I've been out with some real idiots and my best friend has always been charming to them, even though she hated their guts. I've been the same with her boyfriends if I've not been keen. It's your life, if you like this guy, give it a go.
