I started my period but it was extra light pretty much brown. I just started taking birth control. it's been about three weeks and I have been spoting ever since. I get head aches and feel sick to my stomache at night.I am extra tired. Whats going on?

Just so you know, birth control takes a while to start working and if you have had unprotected sex then there is a chance. Take a pregnancy test and then take another in 2 weeks if it is negative. You should always use 2 forms of birth control anyway. Birth control and condoms, just to be on the safe side and to protect yourself from STDs.

Some people have weird bleeding and don't feel well when they first start birth control. If you're that concerned about it, you should take a pregnancy test. Also, you're doctor should have given you a pregnancy test, before they gave you the birth control, so more than likely you are NOT pregnant.

Please just get a pregnancy test - no one can really answer this for you.
If you just started birth control it will do that to you and be careful, when i was ont he pill i tried 3 different kinds and was still very ill - i had all the signs of pregnancy for 5 months, even bloated up like iw as pregnant but in fact i was very allergic to the pill.
So be careful and see how you go with it this month if it gets worse tell your doctor and he'll change it.
But if you think your pregnant, take a test.

It may be that you are, the best way to find out is go get a test and in response to tfrogger2006 yeah they may do a physical exam and test but they may not always see or find a pregnancy if it is very early. I ran into that a couple of years ago(well like 7). But it's always better to spend the money and buy a test and find out than to not find out right away and have problems later o.

It could be the birth control, everybody reacts to birth control different. I would call my ob gyn and see if there is a different kind that may be better than the one you are taking.
