Take your prenatal vitamins. Those will have folic acid in them. Most good breakfast cereals will have lots of folic acid as well.
Food manufacturers are required by the Food and Drug Administration to add folic acid to enriched grain products such as breakfast cereals, bread, pasta, and rice so that each serving contains at least 20 percent of the daily requirement, and some breakfast cereals contain 100 percent (400 mcg) or more. Dark leafy greens are also a good source of folate, as are legumes such as lentils and chickpeas. Other sources include the following:
• 1/2 cup cooked lentils: 179 mcg
• 1 cup boiled collard greens: 177 mcg
• 1/2 cup canned chickpeas: 141 mcg
• 1 medium papaya: 115 mcg
• 1 cup cooked frozen peas: 94 mcg
• 4 spears steamed or boiled asparagus: 88 mcg
• 1/2 cup steamed broccoli: 52 mcg
• 1 cup strawberries: 40 mcg
• 1 medium orange: 39 mcg
In general, eat a varied diet of lots of good foods. Try not to eat a lot of processed foods. Eating lots of vitamin C foods will help you grow a nice strong bag of waters. The longer the bag stays intact, the easier your labor will be. (Contractions are much more intense and pressure is a lot worse after it breaks.)

You shouldn't overload on any kind of vitamins because that could cause problems. Just eat well balanced meals (meat fruit veggies whole grains) and take a prenatal vitamin once a day. My doctor prescribed me prenatal vitamins but I was already taking some that I got at wal-mart and they were the same as what he prescribed. I take my vitamin at night because I was afraid of getting morning sickness and losing it, but I never did.
Check out this website. I have been referring to it the whole time I have been pregnant.
Good Luck!

Folic acid is the number one vitamin a woman needs when pg.
Fruits, veggies and a well balanced diet are a must. Stay away from soft cheese ( feta, brie, veined cheeses ) and deli-meats as they can carry listeria. I have read that you can have deli-meat as long as you reheat it, but I'd ask your Dr. about that. Also stay away from fish that is high in mercury ( shark and swordfish ). There are alot of great websites out there that can give you great advice.
