my inactive tray is not showing up?

i went to the Start and then properites. there the Hide innactice icons button is selected but in ther corner, they are not hiding

If you mean the ones in the lower right, by the clock? Right click above the clock. Click Properties. Under "Notification Area" click "Customize". Right of each icon click the setting. You can select "Always Hide" if you wish the item NEVER to appear!
