What is up with the world now? I mean its becoming socially unacceptable to be a normal or above normal weight. Everyone has flaws and why is it that if you arent a stick, you arent considered pretty?

"Skinny" is not beautiful, except in the liberal-idiotic modelling world which likes emaciated looking women, for some perverse reason.

However, we must be careful not to call normal, shapely women "skinny," because there are a lot of fat jealous women who apply that term to them falsely.

Come on yahoo!!! Let's break it down to everyone. Everyone genes are different. Some are born skinny and some are born little chucky. It's ok too be skinny( the healthy skinny) and it's ok to be big( healthy big). You can be big and have nice curves and a flat stomach. Look at Beyonce, Monique, JLo( wonder job). Some people are natrually skinny like Jessica Alba, Angelina, Katey Homes. But too force your self so be so skinny that you are on the verge of diing and be see your bones. That's scary and not beauital. Everyone has doubts about how the way they look. Everyone can't help the way they look . That's how they were born. If everyone was born what they same BEAUITFUL, the world will be plain. Envy is a scary thing. We want to look good and feel good in our own skin. We want guys and girls too notice us. If some tells you you don't look good, you get sad and you start to envy people that that was you think that look better than you. I hope that will come to peace about looks and size because it's killing our youth and as well as our adults. The most beauitful thing about a person too be me is confidents.

What's considered beautiful and desirable changes in history. And for some reason, women will practically kill themselves to meet these ever changing expectations. For instance:

One hundred years ago, only the palest skin was considered beautiful. (This meant you were affluent because you didn't have to work outside) Ladies literally poisoned themselves with lead powders for the lightest skin! Was skinny happening then? I think not, look at the art work, the models were voluptuous to say the least!

What was sexy back then in Japan? The smaller the foot, the sexier the lady. Women back then crippled themselves and their daughters by binding the feet. Unbelievable!

Corsets, neck rings, piercings, dieting, frying ourselves in the sun or the tanning beds... all in the name of an everchanging definition of beauty! Now with cosmetic surgery???? We've been killing ourselves for centuries in order to be fashionable, sadly I don't see that changing.

No darlin' it's not considered undesirable to be a normal weight. It's considered undesirable to be fat.

A normal weight which might look skinny to our f'ing obese society is beautiful because it suggests good health and a healthy lifestyle. Obesity suggests the strong possibility of emotional issues and who wants to deal with that baggage.

I agree that the stick figures on magazine models does not look healthy either. It's really not the skinny on the models that we find attractive, it's their beautiful faces that catch our eye. We just basically ignore the anorexia component.

I hate it. Personally, I like being athletic, and having muscle. I think the most beautiful thing is an athletic body, or a body thats not skin and bones. It doesn't look natural when you're that skinny, and you know what, I'm proud that I have a butt, just because I'm not stick thin doesn't really matter to me. I'm proud of my soccer, and track thighs, and muscular arms, I'm happy the way I am.

Curves are now very fashionable..
It is men that tell us what they prefer their ideal women to be..
Skinny looks pretty awful but slender looks beautiful. You can carry off most clothes and look good.

Well I have curves and my partner annoys me by pinching my love handles (all of 1/2 inch) How dare he..!

If you are overweight then diet slowly say 2lb per week for however long you need to get to your ideal weight. Less refined carbohydrates and more veg and fruit for snacking..

I don't think that is true, it just depends on who you talk to. Everyone has their own opinion. Most men don't like really skinny women. Its the women who are in competition with each other. Women are trying to "out do" other women.
Luckily for me I have the "Marilyn Monroe" body. Not to heavy and not to skinny, and if people don't like the way I am, then they don't have to look at me.

Some people are stick thin, and they can't help it. they eat and eat and eat, but don't gain any weight. and they get criticized for looking sickly. They're just as insecure about their weight as a heavy person is about theirs.

BUT I'd rather be skinny than have rolls hanging out and cellulite on my *** and thighs.

Weight fashion changes with time. In the 50's round hips were considered saxy. In the 70's you had to be a plank to be attractive. In Botticelli's time women were near obese, who were considered beautiful.
Maybe in ten years time we'll be allowed to stuff our face with doughnuts and still be fancy.

I don't know. Some people are too shallow with weight.
I like fat girls more than skinny girls. And I don't like them stick figured either. I saw Mary-Kate Olsen in a magazine weighing 87 pounds and I almost got myself sick. Her thighs were like half the width of my arms. I think girls are pretty no matter what build they are. I think most people are afraid of obesity.
