I have found a old drawing done by a kid on a school trip who must have been aboard - should I track down the school and (now adult) kid from 1976, or is that just plain creepy? How would you feel if you were e-mailed/ written to decades after a trip by someone who found your line drawing?

I have the name of the school in Edinburgh (nothing found on google), the artists name and age in 1976, she may have married and changed surname. But it looks like I will make some attempt to return the drawing, more of your comments are still welcomed

you should. it would be lovely to the owner of the drawing if you did. I just love seeing the things i did decades ago.
you should try it and post a queston telling us you did somehow and say like the title could be like was it the right thing to do or something like that and that would be so cool.

Initially you could just trace the school. Tell them the story of you finding the drawing then then ask them if they could help you to track down the artist as you wish to return the drawn to them. It may give you piece of mind if the person in question were to receive their artwork from the school its self.

Hee hee. That's the spirit of the Internet! I emailed my old High school teacher I hadn't seen in 15 years. He obviously was a little unnerved by my email.

If it's a decent drawing, I'd think it'd be really neat to get it back years later. If it's something stupid, I'd wonder why you went to all the trouble. :)
