I'm a high school senior, I've got a lot of choices ahead of me. I'd really like to know what you think.

I really enjoy working with small children, they inspire me to be a better person. I know I can teach, I teach within my church, so I know I'm good at it. The only thing holding me back is the pay. We all know that teachers do not have a very high income. This is why I have the second major (voice) in the back of my mind. I have also considered teaching voice lesson for children and teens. My passion is teaching so no matter what I'll become a teacher but What kind of teacher is still up in the air. I guess I really would like to hear from those who do teach and see what you think. So if you teach please tell me your experience...

I'm a teacher and I do have to admit that even though I would love to get paid more, the money isn't that bad. Alo tof it depends on what state you live in. Some things to consider when looking at a teaching career: do some research into what areas are under critical need. Often K-6 teachers and High SchoolEnglish and Social Studies teachers are not needed. On the other hand almost everybody needs speech/language pathologists, special education teachers, and math and science teachers. Alot of places will pay back your student loans or offer other monetary incentives to work in those areas.

Also if you find a university program that gets you a MAsters at the same time as your teaching certificate, then you will get paid more when you graduate.

Finally, if the pay in teaching really isnt quite enough, you do have the option of taking on a fun job during the summer for some extra cash. If you are outdoorsy you can get a job as a camp counselor or a guide somewhere, or work at REI or some other outfitter. There are other examples but those are things I would be interested in so I tossed those out.

Finally, ask yourself, would you rather work in a field you are so obviously passionate about, and maybe not drive a nice car, or have lots of dollars and work in some corporate office selling your soul?

Teaching really is a great profession. Good luck to you and I hope this helps.

My wager isn't any. as a fashion to teach a particular section (both straightforward or song) you want to be qualified in that section. as a fashion to receive that certification you may meet particular criteria for you state. i do not comprehend what the criteria on your state are, yet maximum say you may significant and earn a level on your portion of certification. A minor doesn't grant you with adequate to earn that certification. it really is achieveable to be twin qualified. you would possibly want to double significant, go lower back for a second bachelor's, or finally go lower back and get your masters in inspite of section you probably did not get qualified in. maximum states require you to get your masters after such an excellent type of years besides.
