Yes. And they are absolutely 100% necessary to get your computer secure. Microsoft comes out with critical updates and patches every month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

If you don't have your computer set-up for automatic updating, the go to the Windows Update website and let them download manually.

The lack of updating ones computer is a major cause of computers getting viruses, spyware and other malware!

P.S. --- "Patch Tuesday" is this upcoming Tuesday. Get 'em!

As others have said windows updates are free. Don't forget though, you only get Critical updates. There may be others available for your system. You will have to go to the update page manually to get all of your available updates.

If you are running Windows, then updates are free. And unless you set your system otherwise, they will even download by themselves.

yes they are free but each update has its own use and depends on what you use the pc for and also depends on how much space ram ect you have to know if you can handle the update along with everything else
