Have you clean up your temporay internet folder? That where most of files are downloaded and stored. Clear the files from there. If no changes then suggestion is delete unwanted files and uninstall programs that you no longer user.

Another option is get another computer to back up the files or back up the files onto another file.

You don't tell us how large your C: drive is, as the D: drive is just a partition on the same drive. Like everyone else has said, D: is the recovery partition (restore to factory defaults), when you first booted up your PC when you first got it, you were probably prompted with a message about creating a set of recovery disks. If you did not do this, do so now, as you will need them if you decide to replace your hard drive, as the Windows OS installer, your drivers and other apps that came with your computer reside on the D: drive in a compressed format. Do not format this drive or replace it until you have made a complete recovery set.

the first job you need to do my friend is a go into add remove programs in the control panel and remove(uninstall) any programs which are no longer needed, this can take a while but it will free up alot of space
next go to run>then type in %temp% and then return....this will take you to the temp folders page, then select edit>select all>delete which will clean all the temp folders,....i did this a while ago and i had 3gb of temp data, its amazing how much you can amass
next job is to download a excellent program called advanced windowscare personal(http://iobit.com/),this will do all cleaning and maintenence jobs with simply one click,it also removes any spyware from your p.c
finally hard drives are cheaper than ever these days, with 40gb drives starting at only £29,you can add a second hard drive and simply set the jumpers on the drive to slave(your current drive is set to master),then simply add the drive underneath your current drive and screw into place
by doing this method you wont need to re-install windows as the 2nd drive will basically be for data and storage
but the first job should be remove files, then clean temp folders, then use the program"advanced windowscare"
i hope this has helped you
good luck

Put all the music and whatnot onto a CD-RW then delete them off of the Hard Drive. Use Eraser to delete , use Uninstall if its a program. Then get the scrub your hard drive clean from Fred Langa. You can get the easy one or the really geeky one, but they work.

The disc defragmenter will tell you how full your hard drive is. Get some external storage and start deleting files. And run Ccleaner, use the Issues tool and the Cleaner.

right click on you hard drive under 'my computer' and left click on properties. Click and Disk Cleanup and follow the process.

Also try going to control panel and select Add/Remove programs and his will tell you programs that you havent used for a while that you can possibly delete.

Try not to download any crap from the net as this can bugger up your machine.

A qick and simple way to gain hard drive space is to edit the % of disk space alloted to your Recycel Bin!

Click to highlight the RECYCLE BIN, then RIGHT CLICK, then click on PROPERTIES and change the % from 10% (the default value) to 1%.

If you have, say a 120 gigabyte drive, you'll gain 12 gig of hard drive space.

Did you do a disc compression? Cleaning shows how much space is used. Get another hard drive with another letter.

Start deleting junk from add/remove programs in the control panel.

Or, buy another hard drive.

left click on start,go to control pannel, select on make programms run faster, click disk defragerniser, then click analise, defragernise anyway, cick on report, not cancil, you will go to add remove programes, remove the ones you dont use, check by dates, when finished clear that page, then defragernise again,...things should run faster now and have more space on the hard drive or drives.
