How can I view all computers accessing my wireless connection? I have a wireless router and live in a townhouse. I believe that my neighbors are using my internet connection-- is there a way of telling? Maybe some way to identify IP addresses that are going in and out of my router?

Note: I'm not worried about security, I only want to view IF they are using the connection or not. I know about WEP and other passwords, but I don't want to use them.

alot of wireless routers offer the choice of adding a pass word then it makes it so you have to enter the pass word whenever you turn on your comp to activate the internet

if you're utilising a router it really is achieveable no matter if it really is a on the spot router yet not likely as you may could ascertain a on the spot information superhighway connection or a on the spot section connection that may require a passcode or a WEP key to evade others from utilising it so i'm guessing you're fairly chance-free. basically as a precausion use the guide offered consisting of your router (once you've one to disable the on the spot function and that way the in consumer-friendly words those who can use your broadband are those that are linked on your computer utilising a ethernet or USB connection lead. in case you do not have a router you're one hundred% chance-free as you pick a router on your braodband service to act on the spot in any respect. desire I Helped :)

Our wireless router has a password code that must be entered into a computer before you can use it. You should talk to your ISP about doing that, bad to have others on your personal address...who knows what they are doing on the net. Good Luck!

And the way ours works- you don't have to enter it every time, just once and you are allowed. (FIL uses it when he visits with his laptop- we only had to do his 1 time.)

Set your router to use WEP or if possible, WPA. By doing so, it will prevent any unauthorise connection to your router and only allow computer who know the password for WEP or WPA

If I was you I'd seriously be worried about security and use the WPA as that's what it's there for. All someone has to do is connect to your internet and send out a virus or use your internet to view illegal content and the law will be on your back.

You need to look in the setting and see what mac addresses are accessing your router. You can also put encription on so you need a password and then only you get to it.
