My wife and I are both in the Army and we make combined under 50 grand. I checked something out on the IRS website and it said we are getting like 400 bucks back. That cannot be right. I know next year we get a $3000 tax credit, since we are having a baby in June. This year is not making any sense. I have been voting Republican all this time-what happened-did they screw me?

cute dog... the less you get the better off you did... in fact if you owed every year you would be winning and the Gov will not let it happen. Only fools are glad for BIG refunds... that means the Gov held more of your money longer and paid you no interest. If you owed them that meant that you kept thier money longer and paid them no interest!!!! Sounds crazy but it is true! in fact if you did that 3 years in a row they go nuts and with hold even more!!!!

The Republican tax cuts mostly benefit those in the top 1%. Those are the same people complaining that the Democrats want raise taxes-when in fact that will only include those making over $500,000. The middle class should see some tax relief...and of course the child credit will stay.

Did the Republicans screw you? Look up Truthiness!

Tax Law is very complicated and you may have to apply for this tax credit. Check with H&R Block or other tax accounting firm, there may be ways you can fill out the paperwork that are more beneficial to you.

Were you taking deductions for yourself and your wife throughout the year? You can't have it both ways.
