You have the right to turn around and leave the airport and take your business away from the airlines.

I wish I had a better solution. I am extremely offended by what's happening to us ordinary law abiding citizens, but airlines are private businesses, and the only way to punish a private business is to not do business with them.

I certainly fly a lot less now than I did pre-2001, but I still do fly, maybe just once a year. It's enough to make me ashamed of myself for every dollar I give the airlines.

The people who frisk you, will steadfastly deny any impropriety. In todays climate, it would be quite difficult to prove that security exceeded their authority. They would argue the point beginning with :Circumstances Warranted etc. etc. If you have a complaint you can contact the airport authorities, but unless it is watertight, spare yourself the hassle and put it down to an unwelcome experience.

You have rights. If as a British or EU citizen you 've been checked at any EU country airport they should have tell you the reason and what they are looking for. If you were to a non-EU country, you have no rights. If any of the security staff broke any of the above rights you can appeal either to the European Ombudsman, either to the FCO if it was outside the UK and you are UK citizen, or to the Ministry of Transportation if it was in the UK

The right to be searched by a member of your own sex...after that..none. What is the problem? After 9/11 everyone complained about the security at airports, now everyone seems to be more bothered about how it slows them down, human rights...whatever. It's pathetic.

In an airport, you are under their jurisdiction. Other than someone making inappropriate sexual advances or the like during frisking, you have to submit to it.

none. when i was traveling back and forth to cleveland, ohio this spring because my father was dying i kept on reserving my tickets and paying with cash. when i would arrive at the airport i was searched everytime. going and coming. sadly the people in cleveland were much nicer about the search, however, i was searched.. maybe my last name lacks a definative nationality to it so they say. and they also say that most terrorist would pay with cash. i say not so. however, as long as they dont violate you personally there is nothing you or i can do about it. after i got a credit card and started paying for my tickets on my credit card, they stopped searching me. sigh

You have no right`s !
The check`s made are random and if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about !
As long as the check`s made are multi racial and not just one nationality then they are fine by me !
