ingrowing hairs can be a pain....... they are even more common if if you have Afro-Carribean skin as the hairs are so curly.
exfoliate to avoid ingrowing hairs....use a gentle exfoliator about 2 times a week to remove dead skin cells so that new hairs do not get trapped beneath the skin.
also use a moisturiser to keep the skin smooth and supple. I think you can also buy products from a beauty store that will help combat the problem. Good Luck

You're not going to believe me, but I'll tell you anyway.
Once I was wet-sanding a metal piece I needed smooth for chrome plating.
It was an odd shaped piece, and to sand one area of it, the sandpaper went past the piece and I was sanding an area of my leg.
Not only did I sand off the hair on my leg, but the hair follicle bumps too. Now I have a smooth patch on my leg (the hair grows back).
I was using 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and soapy water.
It sounds like I'm pulling your leg, but I'm not.
I was thinking seriously about doing this to my face since I have alot of acne scars, but I'm a guy and I really don't care enough to try it.
Oh, by the way; you'll have a scab until it heals, then it will be smooth
