No one has solid proof but i think about 6000 to 4.6 billion years.

the Christan's think that the world is only a few thousand years old because it says it in the bible.Scientists think it is billions of years old because they have used some kind of carbon dating devices on fossils.

You have the right to believe what you want to but you have no right to tell some one that that what they believe in is wrong.

There are those who try to separate the scientific and biblical origins of our world. I do not.

My own view is: Time had no venue or meaning before God created day and night, and even then we have no idea how long a day and/or night were in relation to our current time. A day could have been the length of our years, many years.

This said. Before there was a division of any kind to separate day and night, there was earth. How it was formed is a mystery but I suspect that whatever the source, God's hand was in the making.

Man was created to care for the garden and the plants and animals God put there (again how long it took is a ???) there have been findings to day thousands of years back. These findings are mostly fossilized animals, plants and insects, but skeletons of man have also been found. There is no way we can know what Adam and Eve looked like. But I'm thinking they were more like the cavemen we see in pictures rendered from the scientific findings than the glorified drawings made in the imaginations of artists.

Man has been on the earth a long time. Animals longer, and plants even longer. Fish were in the sea before animals walked the earth. This evaluation look, no years, not decades, but multiple centuries to accomplish. We've evolved and are evolving according to God's plan.

What a complex, but good question. The answer depends on whether you want to look at it from a scientific point of view, or from a spiritual point of view.

The Bible suggests that earth was created about 4400 BC. That would make the Earth about 6400 years old. I have a few issues with that suggest, regardless of my otherwise unquestioning faith. The Sphinx was supposedly built some 10,000 years ago. The Grand Canyon took 200 million years to create. There is sufficient scientific evidence that man was near the Savannah River in South Carolina near present-day Aiken some 500,000 years ago.

Scientifically speaking, The Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. The first upright man has been carbon dated to 2 million years, from regions of Africa and Australia (thus the Pangea theory). As far as the modern man, I believe that man, with discernible language and building skills, probably came into existence some 250,000 years ago. This would be the Cro-Magnon man.

All of these years of scientific history, and we are on the brink of destroying ourself with our own weapons, and it would take all of weeks to do it.

First off to address the Religeous vs Scientific debate:

I believe in God and Jesus. I believe the Bible is a great book with lots of good moral lesson to follow in life.

But you cannot take the bible literally at every point.
God did not write the Bible, Man did (though Man was "inspired" by God

Who wrote the book of Genesis: it was somebody well beyond the time of Moses writing about something that happened thousands of years before. And NO ONE was around before "Adam & Eve" to write what was going on.

IF God ONLY created Adam & Eve and everyone is descended from them... Well, when Cain killed Abel and Cain was banashed, he left, found a wife, then eventually returned. Where did Cain's wife come from? hmm...? No one (even priests, Reverends, and Ministers) have yet to answer that one for me,

So I believe God created Earth and Man but the timescale to God is far different than it is to Man. So for dates and Times I go by the Scientific method.

Earth is APPROXIMATELY 4.6 Billion years old
give or take a few million years

Man has been around about 200,000 years
+/- 50,000 years

To put that into scale:
If all the 4.6 billion years from the creation of Earth to today was compressed into a single year. Man has only showed up on the planet at about Dec 31st at 11:59:58 PM

Earth is a few thousand years old & we've been living here since God first made Adam & Eve. Which is 6 days after the Earth was made.

according to fundamentalist pleiadians i am acquainted with, the earth is three hours old. all the memories and histories ordinary humans "recall" were implanted in them as they all were simultaneously dropped off here as part of the program to populate the planet, and give the beings a chance for growth and maturation. thus, all the horrors recalled, have yet to occur. but, given the consciousness level of the planet's now current leadership, undoubetdly will. ;-) btw fundamentalist pleiadians believe that time does not exist, only space, energy and motion. ;-)
