Not anytime soon, but eventually, yes. And sooner rather than later if there was a real shortage or crude oil here on earth.

First of all, discovery of oil on another planet would answer the question of life having existed outside of our own planet, as oil is a biological by-product.
Second, as dependent as we are on fossil fuels (wars are being fought over it!) there would be no doubt that a race would begin to claim and prospect it.
Thirdly, the possibility that we could extend our reach into space with the available fuel resource would prompt a drive from many agencies to exploit the potentials.

It depends how far away the planet was, it would be expensive transporting anything through space. Anyway, if we had spaceships large enough to do a return long distance transportation trip; I doubt that we would still be using oil on Earth, If we had progressed that much, we must assume that we would be using a different type of fuel here on Earth to power our industry and vechicles. so it would be of little use to us.

i don't think they would and environmentalists would fight it. The United States has enough untapped oil on American soil that would stop our dependence on foreign oil. nor do we accelerate or make alternative energy less expensive. Why would they spend money to go to another planet?
